Bunny Newth
Bunny is a painter and studied at Canterbury College of Art, England (Fine Art BA Hons). She worked for several years as a textile designer and printer producing wall hangings for art galleries and industry, before returning to painting. She has taught for many years on art courses in both Further and Secondary Education and was Head of the Art Department at the Simon Langton Girls Grammar School, Canterbury for ten years.
Bunny likes to work with acrylics and pigments, though her smaller pieces are often mixed media, combining monoprint and gouache.’ I currently draw my inspiration from landscape, seascape and memory.’Her work is multi layered – ‘I like to use paint as a stain, gradually building it up more thickly, then often breaking down layers as the piece evolves.’
